St. Nicholas is a non-profit adoption agency under Catholic Community Services, which was started in 1936. We are named after St. Nicholas of Myra, who was a 4th century bishop of Turkey. He is venerated as the patron saint of children.

In 1991, we were awarded a contract through Arizona’s Department of Economic Security (DES) Child Protective Services (CPS) Unit.  The children are transferred to St. Nicholas from CPS after the parental rights are terminated for the purpose of adoption.

St. Nicks recruits, certifies and finalizes adoptions. We also provide comprehensive case management to the children and families we serve.
