Keeping children safe and ultimately in loving, permanent homes is the work of St. Nicholas Center.
St. Nicholas Center, through its affiliation with Catholic Community Services and the Arizona Partnership for Children, provides an array of Child Welfare Services to children and families in Pima, Pinal and Gila Counties.
St. Nicholas Center is a non-profit adoption agency under Catholic Community Services, which was started in 1936. We are named after St. Nicholas of Myra, who was a 4th century bishop of Turkey. He is venerated as the patron saint of children.
In 1991, we were awarded a contract through Arizona’s Division of Child Safety (DCS). The children are transferred to St. Nicholas from DCS after the parental rights are terminated for the purpose of adoption.
St. Nicholas Center recruits and certifies adoptive families and finalizes adoptions. We also provide comprehensive case management to the children and families we serve.
