Namesake: St. Nicholas of Myra-- A 4th century bishop of Turkey. He is venerated as the patron saint of children. His feast day in the Church is December 6.

When the adoption program began in 1991, it was housed alongside St. Nicholas Counseling Service. The name of the agency was chosen by Howard Roush, who was the executive director of Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona, and Sister Janet Neider, who oversaw the counseling center. Originally composed of only five employees and one supervisor, we have now grown to over thirty-five staff members. Our offices are located at 899 N. Wilmot Road, Suite C-4, Tucson, Arizona.
